UNEMPLOYMENT

Lets just add one more to the unemployment rate because last Friday (FRIDAY 13), I was let go from my job. I sat in the bathroom floor and squalled for a while but things are OK now. I knew it was coming but was hopefully optimistic about it. Preparing for the worst and hoping for the best. I still don't like to talk about it nor do I like to be asked questions about it. I hopefully will be interviewing for several positions in the near future so cross your fingers and wish me luck. I am praying for His guidance and God's will to be done! If I don't get the job I will stay home with Tripp for a while and keep him away from all the crud going around.

Who let the dogs out?

Just maybe this post was written with a touch of jealousy. Just maybe if I was a girl , not married, and lived within 200 miles of Tim Tebow I would be his stalker because I think he is such an inspiration for many youngsters and to some degree adults as well but lets switch gears here for a second and focus on his girlfriend. My dad and Dennis would say that wouldn't be hard to do (focus on her) since she is barking at every man who walks by her. Chain those puppies up my friend! I for once in my life finally have boobs. It took me 24 years and spitting out a baby to get them and wish they would stick around for a while so I see where she is proud of them. I made the comment she needed to cover up a bit more, a touch on the skanky side and my Dad and Hubby told me they were NOT skanky. I asked my dad if he would ever let us out the house looking like that and he said NO that would be skanky. Point taken. Enjoy the picture men!

I couldn't stand it any longer

I couldn't take it any longer and had to get our Christmas decorations out. Last year I had them up on November 2. This year not quite on top of things like I usually am but I do have one of my trees up and decorated and all my Santa's out. The mantle is still thanksgiving decor so we are not skipping Thanksgiving by any means! I just love the Christmas season. I am about ready to bring out the Christmas Carol CDs! LOVE IT!!

Food Bringers

Dennis and I are blessed in so many ways that I can't even begin to name them. We have surrounded ourselves with some of the best friends anyone could ever ask for. They have called and check on us making sure we do not need anything and have brought us supper since we have been home from the hospital. Liz even came and stayed the night and helped with Tripp- THANKS SO MUCH LIZ. This is such a great and very appreciated gesture all of you have shown and for that, Dennis and I are thankful.
Dennis had the camera out and snapped a picture of Catherine bringing us food. P.S. it was delicious- I had taco soup for breakfast this morning!

Me and my baby

I realized I didnt have any pictures of me and Tripp besides right after he was born so here are a few.

Belly Mold

I wanted to make something that I could keep and always remember what I looked like when I was pregnant with Tripp. I thought about belly pictures but I didn't want to spend the money on pictures when I knew I would probably not plaster myself half naked on any wall of ours. So Dennis and I made a casting of my upper body a few days before I had Tripp. I sanded and painted it and now I plan on hanging it in Tripp's room. I thought it turned out GREAT!!!! (i forgot how low he was)

Labor and Delivery

Well the details of labor and delivery I have been waiting to post until I had a few minutes to sit down and type it. It all started Halloween (saturday) night, I was sanding a stool and I started having back labor. I had it all night but luckily was able to get a good nights sleep despite the pain. Sunday morning, I woke up having "minor" contractions. They weren't too unbearable but the back pains were awful. So we started timing the contractions and they were about 5 minutes apart. I pulled out my binder that I was keeping all my pregnancy stuff in and one of the three reasons to go to hospital was contractions 5 minutes apart. So I took a shower, got dressed, and packed my bag. (I waited to pack my bag until the last miunte bc I thought as soon as I packed it I would go into labor) I really had to talk myself into going to hospital bc I didn't want to be "that girl" they send home twenty times. But we went. They hooked me up to a monitor and Tripps vitals were fine and the contractions that made me think I was dying were "minor". NO labor and I was only dialated 1 cm. They kept me for a couple of hours and nothing seemed to progress. (Oh and if you do go to hospital, they wont let you eat anything but ice chips, NOTE: I was really hungry) In the meantime, I was in the receiving rooms being watched and I hear this other couple come in and they were put in the room directly across from me. I sat and listened to them and I immediately say "Laura, is that you?" she said "yes" It was my Cialis partner from work. She is almost 30 weeks pregnant and was coming in. So we chit chatted for a while until the Doc came in to see me and said that I could go home, He said I could be 5 hours or several days but no need in me staying; I was not in labor. I was a little embarrassed being sent home but better safe than sorry. So we stopped by Little Caesars and picked up 2 pizzas, cheesesticks, buffalo wings and a 2 liter Diet Pepsi. Yeah it was only me and Dennis eating. But If i were to go back to that place, I wasn't going empty stomached like I said Ice Chips was all I was getting. We were in for an afternoon of Brett Farve football, Pizza and Contractions. My parents came that afternoon and my mom pampered me and kept me company. We walked the neighborhood all afternoon. The contractions were still every 3 to 5 minutes lasting 45 sec to a minute each ALL AFTERNOON LONG. About 10 PM my back was killing me and the contractions worsened making me nauseated. I had a doctors appointment the next day so I had talked myself out of going back to the hospital and was just going to go see my doc at 8 am. By midnight the only thing to keep me confortable was sitting on the toilet and sitting in a warm bath. So I was back and forth from the toilet (I DID NOT HAVE TO GO TO BATHROOM) to the tub. Since I was having such "minor contractions" I figured these weren't anything to complain about either. Finally at 12:30 AM I was getting out of the tub and my water broke. I yelled at Dennis to come in there and I told him my water broke, I grab a robe, undies, and socks and I was out the door. (i didnt get my cell phone, clothes or shoes) I did get the keys and was sitting in the car honking the horn. You know where my sweet hubby was?? in the shower!! oh yes, I guess this was no different than any other time bc he doesnt go anywhere without a shower. He had hopped in the shower. It was the longest wait in the car. I am sure it was only about 5 minutes but it felt like forever. We got to the hospital at 12:44 AM Dennis went to get a wheel chair bc I didnt know if i could walk. but he was taking too long so here I go bent over holding my robe closed. The security guard meets me with a wheelchair only to get yelled at by me telling him to "GET ME AN EPIDURAL." He wheels me over to addmissions, I am yelling at this point, the contractions were so severe. I tell them (probably not very nicely) that I was there this morning my name is BUSE ASHLEY. They wheel me to the back where I had to change from my robe into their gown and this nurse comes and says she is gonna check me, she was in no hurry. I told her she better get me an epidural too. She told me that I was too late and I was about to have this baby. I straightened up real quick and told her that I could control the pain to "get me an epidural, I HAD TO HAVE AN EPIDURAL". I am sure she was laughing. So here comes a crowd of people they are rushing me to a delivery room. I had to get out of that bed onto the delivery table. (I got into delvery room at 12:48 AM.) There were people everywhere. I looked up and asked "DO all the people really have to be in here?" They laughed and said yes. I did get an IV in the middle of pushing, they didnt have time to hook up any monitors. They measured my contractions by a lady placing her hand on my stomach and she would say ok here it comes, PUSH. The doctor barely made it into the room to deliver Tripp. The nurse said he probably wouldn't make it that she was ready. So much for not going back to hospital. I was so sad that my doc didnt get to deliver Tripp but I really loved the on-call doctor as well. Dennis did great although he did get a little pale. The nurse had to sit him down next to the bed and get him some water! But it all happened so fast. 30 minutes later I was up walking around and was able to take a shower several hours later. the 3 things I DID NOT want: 1. c-section 2. to be induced 3. epidural (this was before I knew what contractions were) I got what I wanted.

Tripp Smiling in his sleep!

I love going into his room and watching him sleep. Earlier today, he was making all kinds of sweet faces while sleeping! I thought it was so precious. He was just a smiling!!

Happy Halloween!!!

This post is a little late but Happy Late Halloween. I wasn't in the blogging mood on Sunday bc I was in pain all day so I am now posting some pictures from Halloween. Dennis and I stuck around the house for the trick or treaters then went over to the Ray's for supper and a little football. Thanks Talmage and Katie- we had a lot of fun hangin out with yall!!
Tripp and Pepsey were both pumpkins for halloween!! I painted my belly like a pumpkin and told the little kids that's what happens when you swallow a pumpkin seed!, they loved it and thought it was really cool! (Adults were coming up to the door wanting to take pictures!!) Little did we know that 24 hours later, Tripp would be here!

Baby Update

Despite the last post, I am super duper excited about meeting baby Tripp. We have made it this far no need to let some little pregnancy symptoms spoil the excitement. I went to doctor this past Monday. They did a sonogram and Baby Tripp had not grown much so we are just monitoring his movements. We hoped I would go into labor before then but its Friday night and I don't feel like I will be going into labor anytime soon. I am curious to see what the plans are when I go in on Monday!! It looks like Tripp is overstaying his welcome in Hotel Uterus, just another day God is taking care of him and not me which is just fine with me!

And why would anyone want to do this to themsleves??

As I read my little pregnancy book each week, I always get to the symptoms and it just blows my mind that I am reading this and yet we choose to do this to ourselves. Why, I'm not just real sure yet, maybe when I meet our little man my saggy skin, vericose legs, enlarged @$$, and double chin wont looks so bad while my husband still gets to sport his hot bod around while...you get the point.

So here are the symptoms... they should teach these in classes.. this is FREE birth control my friends.

1. increased vaginal discharge.. oh yummy
2. heartburn, indigestion, flatulence, and bloating- your partner would really be attracted to this
3. occasional headaches, faintness, and dizziness.
4. nasal congestion, nosebleeds, and ear stuffiness ... what did you say?
5. sensitive gums... want a kiss?
6. leg cramps
7. backache.. your husband will eventually get tired of back rubs..like the first mont the rest of the 8 months you are on your own.
8. mild swelling of ankles, feet, hands and face... oh so sexy!
9. varicose veins of legs
10. hemorrhoids.....these are not fun
11. itchy abdomen
12. protruding naval..... if I was a turkey, I would be DONE!
13. stretch marks... no more bikini bods
14. shortness of breath as the uterus crowds the lungs.. that doesnt sound good.
15. difficultly sleeping.... I am so lucky i have not experienced this.. this symptom was for Dennis
16. increasing BH contractions
17. increase clumsiness
18. enlarged breast... for once in my life I might have cleavage!! whoo hoo
19. colostrum leakage from nipples. Got milk?

yes my fellow blog readers, we choose to do this to ourselves??.. maybe I should have read the book beforehand.

The Drug Store

The conversion from a Hometown Pharmacy to a restaurant is complete! This has been my dads Drug Store for 31 years and now it is a restaurant. They finally got all the renovations done and it looks great!!!

Happy Birthday Liz!!

I had so much fun with the girls at Flowedale for Liz's Birthday!!

Weekend in the Delta

Last weekend we went to the delta for the last time before the baby gets here. We had lots of fun. Dennis squirrel and bow hunted and I hung out with the family and went to Billy's wedding!! and we celebrated Rocky's Birthday! he always makes faces when I take pictures and it takes me 2 pictures to get him to smile but I told him that I was going to start posting the one with the smirk on his face!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROCK!!

Tripp's nursery (for now)

Dennis made the frame above the bed (didn't he do a great job??) and Mrs. Connie did the monogramming!! Thanks you two,it is PERFECT!! (now if I could just get the paint colors right for the frame!)

one of my favorite baby gifts

I am probably one of the most sentimental people you will ever meet. Don't get me wrong, I am so thankful for every baby gift but there is one that has to be one of my favorites if not my most favorite. It was a gift from Dennis' aunt and uncle (Joe and Linda Buse). I have opened it up several times since and tear up every time I read it. (It had this poem attached)

Dennis Ray Buse III
There are many days that will be big in his life
Birthdays, graduation, and the day he takes his bride
This knife will be a part of those memories to come
It will cut many cakes and be apart of lots of fun
So store it, protect it, and use it each time
And then pass it on as a treasure down his family line.

GUESSING GAME

I thought this was the cutest idea. (I stole it from Lee Carby) Its a guessing game on when you think Baby Tripp is going to arrive with the date, time, weight and length. Copy the outline listed below and paste it along with your answers in the comment box. I will make a blog post with everyone's guesses and once he is here announce the winner.

Helpful hints to remember: Tripp is due November 5. He weighed ~4lbs 5 oz on September 17. I weighed 7 lbs 1/2 oz 21 inches. Dennis was 8 lbs.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROCKY!!!

Hope you have a great birthday!! we will see yall tomorrow night to celebrate the big day!!

Who will Tripp look like.

I can't help to wonder what our baby will look like. What traits will he get from me and what traits from his father!?! We chose not to get the 4-D sonogram so we really dont have the slightest idea of what our little man looks like. I had never seen many baby pictures of My Dennis when he was a baby so the other night we rumaged thru some boxes at his parents. I must admit he was definitely a cutie pie. So here are several pictures when we were babies.

Doctors visit. 10/19

NOTHING had changed. blood pressure is excellent, lost .2 lb, baby still in position, and no dilation. The waiting game is on. Due date still November 5 but will definitely have a baby by Nov 19. Walked 3.5 miles today with my friend Paige so maybe that will speed things up a bit.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday Crystal, Happy Birthday to You!! (and Happy late birthday to Chase!!) Thought this was a fun picture of you two!!

OLE MISS

Dennis and I went to Oxford yesterday to the Ole Miss game. Dennis was given 4 skybox tickets so we said why not?! We tailgated with our family at Royann and Rocky's tailgate and had a blast. Game time came, Royann, Mrs.. Connie, my mom, and myself went to game while the guys took the sky box tickets... 2 pregnant women and the moms in the cold while the men enjoyed the good life.. They did offer us the tickets but we thought they would enjoy it more and they did just that. Royann and I went up at halftime and it was so nice!! We ALL had so much fun and just might have to try to get to oxford again soon.

Can we say MAMA?

can we say MAMA? Well I will be 38 weeks this week! I weighed this morning and still the same but my belly has DEFINITELY blossomed out. Still feeling GREAT!! I go to doctor every Monday so tomorrow is the big day. I don't feel much different than last week so I doubt things have changed much if any!! I love going every week so I cant wait to see if anything has changed. I am not miserable yet so we are not in any rush. I do not want to be induced so we are just gonna let Tripp come when God thinks the time is right. We are getting anxious to meet our little man though.

37 Weeks

I went to the Doctor this week and everything was looking good. Baby is still in the correct position, I was worried because he moves around so much. I have not gained any weight in a couple weeks which he said was fine because Tripp is still growing. My stomach is getting tighter and tighter each day and it feels like I am going POP. I am not dilated any so we are still shooting for our November due date!!! I am just so thankful for a wonderful pregnancy without any complications thus far and hope the remaining weeks are as wonderful as the past 37! God is GOOD!!

Babies R Us

Dennis and I had a date night Monday and went to Memphis. We went by Babies R Us to return 2 items that I had received multiple of. I did not have the receipt for either item and let me just tell you that was a problem. First they weren't gonna let me return them. I had printed off my registry and in which both items were on there. Then they told me I had to have proof of purchase. After debating they let me return them but get this, didn't give me full price. I was fuming.

cost if you were to go in Babies R Us and buy them
Item 1 $9.99 plus tax in store and online price
Item 2 $21.99 plus tax in store and online price

what they gave me credit for on a gift card:
Item 1 $7.49 plus tax
Item 2 $16.49 plus tax

I argued with the man saying that was not right and he tried to explain to me that if I dont have a receipt they give me the lowest price. I dont know where those LOWER prices come from but you will NEVER get me to understand that, NEVER(unless the item is discontinued or on sale). He said the items MAY be cheaper on the Internet.. hello Mr. Babies R Us Manager they are NOT cheaper and you stole from me and I was not and still am not happy about it.

So if I would have turned around and decided just to keep those items, just guess how much I would have had to pay: $9.99 AND $21.99 plus tax. Oh yes because those items are not sale items... Mr. BRU Manager told me.

Dennis was trying to get me to calm down and I was furious. Sill makes me hot talking about it!

NEW 2 U

New 2 U Children's consignment was definitely something that was "New 2 ME" I asked my friend Kelly to go with me. The doors opened at 7 and we got there at about 5:45 and people were already standing in line. Not just standing in line, these people were prepared with empty laundry baskets and strollers to hold their findings. CONSIGNMENT Nazi's!! It was definitely something I was not prepared. Building 3 of the Tupelo Furniture Market was PACKED with everything you could ever imagine for children. This event is twice a year and I will be ready for the next one. I usually love things like this but I was so overwhelmed and did not know what to expect. I am already looking forward to next years event.
These are the 3 items that I bought. (And they all still had the tags attached!)

Tripps Baby Shower

My sweet sweet friends gave Tripp and myself a wonderful baby shower last weekend at Spring Lake. These girls really know how to throw an shower and did way too much. It was beautiful and we got so many wonderful gifts!! Thanks so much for helping us prepare for Tripps arrival. Yall have made getting ready for him so easy and stress free. I love yall so much and can not thank you enough.

BIG FOOT

I have started the so called nesting process. I just want to get things ready early so I can enjoy time to myself before the baby comes. So I was in the attic straightening things up and managed to step thru (ALL the way thru) the ceiling. I was hoping it was in the garage but when I got my entire right leg out and looked down I was in our bedroom closet! I wasn't real sure if I wanted to cry or laugh. I did a little of both. I teared up because it scared me pretty good but there was no need in crying. I don't have to worry about getting in trouble from my parents. I use to think if I cried I wouldn't get as many whippings! But I am ok just a few bruises on my knee and upper leg. Dennis tried to tape it up until we get it fixed but it did not stay!

Baby Showers

I am just overwhelmed at the love our friends and family have given to Dennis and myself in preparing to welcome Tripp into this world. The love that has been shown when times are tough right now mean so much to both of us and I can not thank each and everyone enough!! We love all of you and can not wait for all of you to meet Baby Tripp. Here are some pictures of a shower given by our Sunday School Class.

Belzonians

There is something about not only being from the Delta but being from Belzoni. Belzoni will always be home although it has definately changed dramatically the last 5 years. I love going back and especially love the people there. Well this week I ran in to several Belzonians and was just tickled to death to see them so I had to blog about it. I get excited when I see people I know from back home. I saw Mrs. Sylvia Thornton, and Mr. Don and Mrs. Dot Golden. I havent seen them in 5 plus years so it was great getting to visit with them!!

Conversation

This is the conversation I had with my pregnant friend this morning. I went back and read the entire thing and I thought it was funny and blog worthy so we can look back at it and laugh:

me: you better get to work. ha just called your desk.
pregnant friend: I'm on my way there. cant shake a bad headache that Ive had all night.
me: im sorry about your headache. im sure you will be feeling much better in 2 days!!! whoo hoo!! its a BABE!!
Pregnant friend: i think im in early labor now... fever headache nausea contractions...
me: oh yuck! dont spit it out at work now. that would be a hell of a story though. definitely bog material.
pregnant friend: ha yeah. i just dont want my water to break at work. that would be mortifying.
me: yeah that wouldnt be good but hey, people would understand. i hear its very slippery so be careful if it does. you dont want to fall down.
pregnant friend: Gross! ugh!
me: im serious! you are gonna have to give me all kinds of details. not sugar coated either
pregnant friend: well i will. nastiness and all.
me: sweet! i cant wait i am getting mean and irritable. ha I just feel so large
PF: i just hate noise. thats been my thing lately. the TV pisses me off.
me: you know what, when i got home yesterday, i was on my computer, no TV and dennis came in and turned it on and it kinda annoyed me too or maybe bc it was espn and i have been driving with the radio off. i guess its our instincts kicking in saying you better enjoy the peace and quiet bc its OVER!!!!
PF: you're probably right about that one
me: who knows. we are weird though. I just hope I have a cute baby! they say no matter what you think , you think its cute but im kind of a critiquer and am not afraid of speaking the truth.
PF: i'll tell you if yours is ugly if you tell me mine is ugly.
me: ha like i would tell you is your baby is ugly. but if its real ugly i will.
but i must add I think we all are average looking people and they make the best looking babies!! have you ever seen a baby from 2 really good looking people? not the best looking baby
PF: ha! they're not gonna be ugly at all. they'll be cute
me:yeah they will!! i think ours will have a butt chin. he looked like he had one in the sonogram. My dennis had one when he was a baby!
PF: they're all ugly at first though, cone heads and all white. alien looking! i had to have a talk with husband about how they wouldn't look that way long.
me: gonna run into an office
PF: ok bye!
THE END just wanted to be able to look back at this crazy conversation!!

Baby bump at 35 weeks

Its not the most rounded belly I have ever seen, more like a cone head turned side ways. He still moves ALL the time so we really have a good time watching and feeling as my belly moves and conforms to his position. Going to the doctor this Friday!

MS State vs LSU

Our sweet friends invited us to go the the state game with them. They had a limo take us to and from the game. It did rain but that did not stop us from have a GREAT time. State played extrememly well. I just wished we could have come out with a W. Thanks so much Paige and Adam.

cry me a river...

So I just walked in the door, got home alittle early today and went straight for the couch and computer. Not because I wanted to but because my feet are hurting me so bad that it almost makes me want to cry.. Yes a little emotional today. Besides the fact that my left KANKLE foot/lower leg looks like an elephant and the right side of my ribs, I know must be fractured because its hurts so bad, I am hanging in there. See the resemblance Albino elephant foot and normal elephant foot
Might I add that I keep thinking that I am going to do everything possible to keep from an epidural. I am in for a RUDE awakening if I think this rib stuff hurts ha. Yes you must be thinking what is wrong with girl? I just don't like the idea of my lower body being uncontrollable, much less a sword like needle being put between my vertebra into my spine... just doesn't do it for me. I don't ever want to know what it feels like to be semi paralyzed..EVER. People, they dont make these needles that long just for looks, if it required a shorter needle, I would almost bet you they would save that metal for another needle and not be so wastful. So the plan is give me what ever you can anywhere on my body besides the spine and head. (plus My Dennis thinks this pregnancy is just a piece of cake, SIDE NOTE- it has been wonderful and God has really watched over me, but I don't want him thinking that delivery it just a walk in the park too... we need a little sympathy here ;) I am sorta kidding.)

On a side note ONLY 2 more days of work!!! yippee!!! My company gives us a month paid leave before the expected arrival of a baby... how nice? I know so I will not be returning to work until January 27!!! that is if I have a job, yes I have not posted about the "reorganization" "realignment" AKA layoff that will be happening on November 13 so I might as well post about it now. We have known about this for a couple of months, but there is not much I nor anyone else can do about it so I haven't really worried about it nor talked about it to anyone. God has taken care of us thus far so I don't doubt he will stop now. So we shall wait and see.
